Customer Rating: Summary: Just play Madden 08, or even 07. They are all the same on PS2. Comment: I thought I would get something new with this release but I haven't found anything worthwhile yet. The commentary is the same and Al Michaels is still wondering if this facemask penalty will be of the 5 or 15 yard variety. The NFL rules committee removed the 5 yard variety Al so it will be 15. Ok? And the rosters are only "slightly" updated and I say that because the game must go into production before all the key trades during training camp like Jason Taylor going to the skins. The skins roster also doesn't include Colt Brennan, their 3rd QB which they drafted. The 3rd QB on EA's roster is the punter and the one they probably won't even sign this year since they drafted the Ray Guy award winner who is also not on the EA roster. EA should introduce a "roster correction" feature at start up and let the user fix these issues. I'm sure other team rosters have the same problems. Graphics, camera motion, game play are all the same. The GUI menu is slightly different but unnecessary. Hopefully it is more complete for the XBOX and PS3. If not, EA should not be allowed to keep their NFL contract if they are gonna be so slack. A good example of a well run game with new models would be the Gran Turismo series. They study and get it right every time. I could only imagine if Polyphony Digital had the NFL contract how amazing the game would be.
Customer Rating: Summary: The greatest Madden game for PS2!!! Comment: I love this game! Words can't express how great this game is. It does have it's madden-quirks though such as, after scoring a touchdown, your man will run and dissappear into the wall. Madden never the corrected the "morphing" problem yet. Also, I realize it is a PS2 but the rain and snow still look weak. No field effects occur. Just a slight splash of water when you run, or a slight spritz of snow. i wish they would have improved on those features. But overall, I love this game!!!
Customer Rating: Summary: solid game Comment: well overall this game is solid as always.. pretty much the only complaint i have is that on the ps2 version it seems that gameplay seems to get 'glitchy' sometimes. for example- if i passed the ball, before it got to the WR the game wouldn't be smooth, it would slow waaayyy down and get jerky. other than that though i love the game and love the madden series.
Customer Rating: Summary: Where are the new graphics and new commentators Comment: Just bought Madden 09 for ps2. I thought there was suppose to be enhanced graphics , such as snow sticking to the ground but it the same as before and the snow does not stick. And I thought there were going to be new broadcasters but it;s still madden and michaels, Whats going on ????
Customer Rating: Summary: A Humiliation for the Madden Franchise Comment: This game is one of EA's poorest efforts, which is really saying something. Again, in 2009, this is nothing more than a roster update, and what's worse, many of the players don't even have career stats, it just comes up N/A. They have bragged for months about all these new features, and each year they add stupid little things like "quarterback camera 3-d mode" but what people really want is a complete game with all the details that make each player unique. Other than the linemen appearing a little fatter and moving a little slower, nothing has changed. This game is so dreadfully incomplete that I cannot believe it was cleared to be placed on shelves. Madden 2008 was better (nothing to date has, and may never top Madden 2005) and if I were you I'd hang on to it for another year and keep playing it; it's not that difficult to do your own roster updates.
Man, this is the biggest letdown of any game I have ever bought.
