Customer Rating: Summary: The worst phone ever Comment: This is the worst phone I have ever owned...by far.
When I bought this phone, the sound was so bad I thought the speaker was defective, so I had it replaced, but the replacement phone is exactly the same.
The sound is as if the person you are talking to is in the back of a large cave.
It opens too flat, so you can't hold in on your shoulder at all. Also, you have to hold the phone right in the exact position on your ear to hear anything at all (making it even more impossible to hold it with your shoulder).
The people I am talking to always complain that they can't hear me over all of my background noise...but there isn't any background noise, or very little. They can always hear whatever is going on in the background WAY better than they can hear me.
Whenever I let people borrow the phone, they always say, "What's wrong with your phone?" But there is nothing WRONG with it...that's just the way it is. I know, because I've owned 2 of of them.
The buttons to the MP3 player (which also sounds TERRIBLE) are on the outside of the phone. I cannot tell you how many times I have accidentally turned on the MP3 player as I am putting it in my pocket. You can set the keyguard to come on after a certain amount of time, but if you accidentally hit the play button before the keyguard comes on, you're in trouble. And the MP3 player plays whether your phone is on 'silent' or not.
Again, this is BY FAR the worst phone I have ever owned. I HATE IT!! DO NOT BUY!!!
Customer Rating: Summary: Very poor voice quality Comment: My old Nokia 6101, which is almost three years old, has served me well and still works like a champ. The only reason I even considered getting a new phone was because I wanted Bluetooth. The 6263 seemed like the ideal replacement for my trusty 6101.
Sadly, the 6263 turned out to be a major downgrade. The voice quality is absolutely awful. After 20 minutes of talking, I actually had an earache thanks to the shrill, harsh audio. I immediately took the SIM card out of the 6263 and put it back into my 6101, and sure enough, the 6101 was like using a landline phone -- the sound quality was perfect. Just to be sure, I put the SIM back in the 6263 and tried again, and sure enough, the sound was positively miserable.
I also noticed that the battery seemed to run down very quickly, even though I had only talked for 20 minutes. Very surprising, considering that my old 6101 still goes for five or six days between charges, and that's with at least one or two hours of talking per day.
I will say that the 6263 has a very nice screen and a comfortable key layout. If it weren't for the terrible voice quality and poor battery life, I would have given it at least four stars, maybe even five.
Nice try Nokia, but this phone is not up to your usual standards and you never should have released it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Possibly the worst battery life ever Comment: DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. The battery life is just a big joke and T-mobile should be ashamed for releasing such a piece of crap. In all complete seriousness this phone lasts about a half hour on a full charge if you use it, about 8 hours on standby. I charge this phone every day and it still doesn't last a whole day, and I hardly use it. Great phone otherwise, having it plugged in and tethered to the wall the majority of the time overshadows anything good about it. What a disappointment, will never look at another Nokia phone.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good phone, bad battery time, overly sensitive speaker position Comment: I like the features of this phone, but its battery time is terrible, and that's the first reason why I'm rating it low. The owner's manual says it has standby time of up to 270 hours (which is 11.25 days). However, my experience is that it lasts 2 days or less, even when the phone isn't used.
I wondered if it was just a bad battery, so my service provider swapped in a new battery, but it gave the same disappointing result. For me, this is a serious annoyance. My previous phone, a Motorola v-180, lasted 5 - 8 days, even when it was used a lot (under the same conditions as this Nokia).
My other complaint is that, every time I use this phone, I have to carefully adjust the position of the phone against my ear in order to find the spot where the sound is clear. This has not been an issue with previous phones.
Customer Rating: Summary: Dont Buy! Comment: Have had this phone for a month. The battery life is awful and I have to dial out a call 3 times for it to go through. Also the earpiece quality is not that great and people on the other end of the call says it sounds like im in a tunnel when im talking to them. I used to always buy nokia phones buy lately they've been poorly reliable. The only good thing about this phone is the camera, but i didnt buy the phone to take pictures, i bought it to make calls.
