Customer Rating: Summary: Great all around light Comment: I use this light in conjunction with the Twofish adapter on my commute bike (Cree also makes a handlebar adapter). It fits the bill for a wickedly bright light needed for those low light trail excursions. The multi-level output is great for my needs, as low works great for twilight / sunset - so others can see me. Mid (low/Med and med/Hi) works great as the twilight goes to night. The switch is stable and doesn't trigger even on the rockiest trails.
I've ridden with this light out on the trails in the South Bay where there
are no lights. With this baby running in HI/Mid (the highest output setting before rotating to the 215 lumens), a nice corona (the light on the sides of the main beam) is full and consistent, without a center dead spot like so many other LED lights produce. You can see everything in front of you if you are traveling less then 20 mph.
Customer Rating: Summary: Nice light that meets expectations Comment: Nice size and great performance. It took a while to figure out how to change brightness, but once I figured it out, it was no problem. I ordered from this page and since the color of the product was black I assumed I would get the black one, but an olive one came, that was a bit disappointing.
Customer Rating: Summary: Like having a car headlight in your pocket! Comment: This light is well worth the money. It is extremely bright. I recently used it at a museum event held at night. there were actually gasps from the crowd whenever I used it. Another gent at the event had his 3-D cell maglite. the Fenix put it to shame. As suggested in the title its about as bright or brighter than a single car headlight. In addition to the brightness, a great feature of the light is the multiple light output settings you can choose from. Get one...you wont be sorry.
Customer Rating: Summary: Amazingly bright in a small package! Comment: It is astonishing how bright and yet how small this light is! The light feels solid and very well made.
On the positive side:
Small, unequalled combination of brightness & size!
Multi-modes - Low, medium, high, turbo constant brightness plus automatic "SOS" flash and turbo-brightness rapid strobe (the latter is kind of disorienting if shined at you).
Tail push-button switch protected by raised rim.
Light color appears to be true white (not noticeably blue or yellow).
The only thing that could use improvement is:
The tail pushbutton is used for both on/off and mode selection. That means when you turn it on it doesn't come on in the last mode used. Maybe it's picky on my part, but that's a minor annoyance. The "turbo" selection is by rotation of the front section. It would be nice to have all modes selected by this section (with detents).
By the way, the light requires two CR123A lithium batteries and they are not included.
The negatives are pretty minor about this light. The positives are outstanding!
Customer Rating: Summary: Great flashlight... Comment: It's a great flashlight and very bright! It has a pretty low battery life compared when in Turbo mode however, the bright general mode is sufficient anyway. I'm definitely a flashlight junkie and this is a great one to add to the collection.
