Customer Rating: Summary: great kitchen scale Comment: Great scale. Easy to store, clean, use. Has lbs. and grams with a tare system. Has a "pull out" display if weighing a larger item. Can weigh up to 11 pounds. I'm very please with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone needing a simple to use, straight forward, no nonsense, small scale.
Customer Rating: Summary: Expensive, but worth it Comment: An accurate, compact set of scales that's easy to use, and functions well. Missing 1 star purely due to the price.
Customer Rating: Summary: OXO Does It Again! Comment: This is my second digital food scale. I loved the first, a Salter 3007, but as another Amazon member warned me I would, I melted it on top of the toaster. It still worked fine, but after the battery need to be replaced, I decided to get a new scale.
Here's why I love the OXO Food Scale:
1. Easy to use. The buttons are simple; no instructions needed to figure stuff out; very intuitive design.
2. Very accurate.
3. Very precise. This things measures single grams. My previous scale measured grams in increments of 5.
4. Pull-Out Display. Very helpful when working with oversized items
5. Uses AAA batteries. No looking for strange batteries
I had to slow down on my baking when the other scale died. I am now back in full swing! Just in time for Thanksgiving!
Customer Rating: Summary: Worth the money Comment: I was a bit apprehensive to spend this much on a scale, but I have since used the two main features multiple times and so I think it has paid for itself. The pull out display is very useful and the zero function is fantastic. If there is a downside, it would be that the display updates with a very slight lag so as I pour more of an ingredient into a bowl, the measurement isn't instant. So just add more of your ingredient gradually and you'll be fine.
Customer Rating: Summary: Oxo Food Scale Comment: I bought this scale because Cook's Illustrated recommended it. As usual, Cook's was right; it is really a great gadget.
