Customer Rating: Summary: maldemer Comment: Great printer for the price ($85.00). I replaced every cartridge with non Epson cartridges without a problem then finally experienced the same error others received with my Epson RX595 printer (won't recognize cartridges). I luckily had another cyan cartridge to try (non Epson) and again received the error that all 6 cartridges could not be recognized. Since the printer would not recognize all of the cartridges, I determined that it probably was not related specifically to the cyan cartridge. I hit the "Stop/Clear Settings" button and started to reseat each cartridge one at a time. After reseating the black cartridge, the printer came back failing to recognize only 4 of the 6 (making progress). I then reseated the other 4 cartridges and the printer finally accepted all 6. Good Luck.
Customer Rating: Summary: Printer was damaged as shipped in original carton no outter carton toprotect it Comment: Printer was shipped in original store carton and was damaged it had to be replaced with a refurbrished unit from Epson Support. The carton of the printer had 2 large holes in the cardboard carton.
Customer Rating: Summary: Poor printing Comment: I'm not sure what the deal is but I think the prints kind of suck, which is too bad because we were exited when we bought it. But they all seem to have visible lines, and sometimes even just random spots and other imperfections. Cleaning doesn't seem to make a difference.
It does scan well.
Customer Rating: Summary: Nice Printer Comment: After a long line of HP printers, I decided to switch gears this time and settled on the Epson. I only gave it 4 stars because I have not used the scanner yet. I mostly bought this printer because of the individual color ink tanks on it.
I have been happy with the purchase. I print mostly black text, but every once in a while I need a picture printed. I rarely need photo quality, so I cannot say how good this is for that. I print everything on plain paper and have been happy with the turn out.
The only thing that I noticed about this printer compared to the HP is that it just seems a little slow to que up the print job. It just seems to take a few seconds longer than the HP. Not a huge deal and I would still have gotten the printer even knowing that.

Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent all around printer! Comment: It had been 3 years since we had purchased a printer and after much research we bought this one. I was impressed from the minute I put our CF camera card in it and printed pictures on 4X6 photo paper. The photos were outstanding--better than the drugstore photos I printed before. We have had it for 4 months and use it pretty heavily and we are just now getting low on some of the inks-- so it is good with the inks (regardless of what others say). It is a decent scanner (does a good job) and a decent copier (some of the copies are light but that can be changed using the menu--to make them darker). I really love this printer and love being able to print quality photos to send to family.
