Customer Rating: Summary: Black Jax light up discs Comment: The discs themselves are good for an intermediate to advanced disc golfer, though the real benefit is the LEDs, which make finding a lost disc a lot easier even in wooded terrain.
Pros: when thrown correctly, these discs REALLY fly, LEDs enable night golf and even during the day assist in retrieving errant shots into brush/leaves/forest. Discs break in quickly, LEDs are located in holes in the rim facing outward - you'll almost always be able to see them.
Cons: LEDs are sensitive -- 2-3 square shots into a tree and 1 went out (the solder point was clearly visible, and compromised). Transparent disc nearly invisible without LEDs. Unforgiving for novice players -- throw slightly off on a distance shot and you'll be waaay off by the time the disc lands.
All told, a fine set for a more advanced player, but beginners would do better playing during the day with different discs.
