Summary: Warn Works 685000 PullzAll Hand-Held Electric Pulling Tool, Corded Version
Comment: This pulling tool is an absolute necessity for any Homeowner looking to get the big jobs done without calling all your friends over to lend a hand! I even used it to pull our Pedal Boat out of the Lagoon.

Summary: Amazon Service was Great-Pullzall Performance Could be Better
Comment: Bought this for light duty pulling in my shop. The first unit would over run several inches no matter how light the trigger pull. It was hard to judge where it would stop. I also found that the cable had a broken strand that could catch a finger if not wearing gloves so I returned it for another.

The new one allows me to feather the trigger so that it will stop where I want it to. I downloaded the service manual from the Warn site. It's 50 pages long and has a lot of detail. From the manual it looks like the winch has had several revisions.

The manual advises to discard the tension plate if it has one. I think my first one did as it had a black drum guide in the picture and the new one is gold colored. It also shows a revised hook, but both my units had the old one.

The manual states that old units have a circuit breaker and the new ones have a rocker switch. Both my units had the circuit breaker. It's a little disappointing that the old units are still being sold. Maybe this is a recent improvement. It would be nice to leave the unit plugged in and turn off the rocker switch.

The direction switch is confusing as if you think of the unit going up or down the direction arrows are backwards. If you remember to think of the cable going in or out the arrows are correct. I made in-out and direction arrow labels with a label maker so I won't have to think about it.

I think the Pullzall is a very good idea, but could be of better quality. The fairlead on both units is rough cast and would be easier on the cable if were smooth. I would recommend that you check to make sure the Pullzall that you order has the updated features.

Comment: The Hand-Held Winch performed as advertised and just what I needed for some small jobs. Delivery was on time and the company even called me to make sure everything was "OK". Recommend both the item and the way it was handled. Steve Pitman, NJ

Summary: attic hoist
Comment: Installed for use as a hoist in the attic, for lifting heavy storage items through an access hatch.

Pros: I like the versatility of the unit. It is lightweight and can be used for outside applications like pulling shrubs out, hoisting things in the garage, trees, etc. It performed well in the Attic application in lifting three window air conditioners that were stored for the winter.

Cons: It is a bit slow. It is geared low, and overshoots when you release the trigger, making it difficult to come to an exact position. (not a big issue) I would have liked to have a cargo net available with the unit. I could not find one and had to build a small plywood platform with ropes attached in order to lift items into the attic. This works OK, but a net would be much easier.

Summary: Thinking of buying a 2nd one, but..
Comment: I don't think it is worth over $200. I use my 1st one to pull shrubs out of yards and am getting more and more ambitious on the size of bush I want to pull. The one wench red lines and I am afraid of ruining it. So, here I am; BUT, geez these things are tooooo pricey now. Where's the china alternative?

Well, I bought the second and pulled a huge pine tree root ball.

i wanted to give it 5 stars, since the secon one seems to have a overload cut out timer...
