Customer Rating: Summary: Prenatal yoga challenging enough for practitioners Comment: I am so glad I got this DVD. I have several other prenatal yoga DVDs (Shiva Rea) and Kristen Eykiel (Yoga for your pregnancy). While those videos are good for when you want a nice relaxed practice, if you are an experienced yogini they can be too easy. This DVD is great because you get a real workout, it's like a regular vinyasa class modified for pregnancy.
The instructor is great too.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great workout! Comment: I used this video throughout my pregnancy. I even continued to use it the weeks following delivery. This video is great because it gives modifications depending on your level and stage of pregnancy. I highly recommend it for all levels.
Customer Rating: Summary: Too difficult and repetitive Comment: I take a vinyasa yoga class 1 day per week and really enjoy it so I thought this dvd would be perfect. It is way too difficult, especially for pregnant women. I am in my first trimester and I couldn't keep up just because I can't breathe as quickly anymore (more oxygen to the baby than the mommy). Also, she did lunges for the first 40 minutes. The dvd is so repetitive it get boring quickly. When it finally got interesting again at about an hour I was so out of focus I couldn't get back to my practice. The dvd is way to long for the variety of poses. The woman in her third trimester actually looks uncomfortable practicing and I know there is no way I could do this video in my third trimester without a lot of practice. The camera work is also unprofessional.
Customer Rating: Summary: Thorough and vigorous workout Comment: I have been practicing yoga for 4 years now. During my first trimester, this workout was much too vigorous for me, but after the fourth month, I have found it to be much more complete, relaxing and generous to my body than the other two CD's I got: Prenatal Yoga with Shiva Rae and Yoga Mama. It has been important to have a variety of easy and more challenging, as well and long and shorter practices to use depending on how I'm feeling. I usually do this workout once a week and the other two a little more often. I am looking forward to ordering Jennifer Wolfe's post natal yoga to get back in shape after my baby is born. I really do love the poses and pacing of her practice. One last thing: this workout is about 1 1/2 hour, so if you are pressed for time you might want to try one of the other two I mentioned, especially Yoga Mama.
Customer Rating: Summary: A good, solid workout Comment: This is a great DVD if you've practiced Yoga before you were pregnant. I find that many prenatal Yoga tapes are a bit too "mellow" for me and I wanted to push myself a bit, but still have guidance as to how to modify poses. I find this the perfect DVD to follow when I'm looking for more of a challenge. I also purchased the Prenatal Yoga by Shiva Ray, and that one is more mellow and restorative- perfect for those days when I'm not feeling quite up to a Vinyasa work out. I love having two DVD's to go to and it helps keep me from getting bored with either one.
