Customer Rating: Summary: Frame rate freeze. Comment: Graphics are OK and all PSP games are short so I'm not sure why so many here complain about that. With this game when an enemy comes into view and you begin to exchange fire the game actually freezes up and three seconds later when it begins to move again you're like, "Oh I guess I killed the guy?". This happens all the time. Very annoying and not something I've seen in any other game I've ever palyed (SOCOM / KILLZONE / SYPHON FILTER).
Best Buy has this game for $14.99. That's the only reason I was generous with 2 stars.
Customer Rating: Summary: Rainbow Six: Vegas on a handheld too good to be true? Comment: Who could forget Logan and his team on the console version game of the same name? Solid controls, great graphics, and team work all lead you to victory of the so called terrorists. On the PSP? Not so much.
There's really no team work here. You're pretty much a one man army against a legion of terrorists. Sure, there's two man that you play as, as the game progesses from area to area. But, you only play one at a time and neither are in the same room taking down the same baddies as the one that you're controlling. Control? Don't get me started on that. Unfortunately, due to this being a PSP game, FPS's tend to suffer in terms of that. Move forward, back, and strafe using the directional thumb pad and aim using the face buttons. Wait..aim using the face buttons?! Give me a break, atleast the game give you the option to change the layout of the buttons and that, I very much welcomed. Although, moving from place to place is relatively solid, putting your character on a wall to look around the corner can be a bit tiresome. It's easy! Walk up to it, that's it. But, when you're running around trying to get somewhere, you'll sometimes stick to the wall on accident and it just becomes frustrating. Oh, and the free aiming? Not really there. Sure, you can look around and shoot, but, will you hit enemies more often than not? No, I highly doubt it. Sniping suffers the most from this. I've had numerous problems sniping and getting head shots. I'd say the saving grace of this game are the graphics and the guns. For a handheld, the graphics of the game are pretty top notch. Waterfalls and even a mansion have nice detail. I was happy to see that the FAMAS made it into the game as well as the L85A2. You'll find all these guns in the game's console brethren so you should be pretty familiar with them.
Customer Rating: Summary: A Sin City FPS...or is it?? Comment: The success of the Rainbow Six Vegas series on the PS3, X-Box 360, and PC has inevitably been transfered to the hand-held PSP. And overall, I'd say the transformation was a success. Playing as a two member team of the elite Rainbow Six Unit you are called to a stop a terrorist threat in the surrounding Vegas area. The weapons, graphics, voice-over work, and A.I. are all up to snuff; though the A.I in some places can be downright laughable as guards ignore gunshots in their direction and partners that are killed right next to them.
The game is also quite short, luckily there is some replay value with a Terro Hunt mode that allows you to hunt for baddies through already completed areas. And there are a variety of locals including an airport, penthouse, ranch, and the Hover Dam. Which brings me to what I feel is the games biggest weakness: The NAME: VEGAS. If not for a few glimpses of a mock version of the Stratosphere Hotel, and a brief view of the Strip you'd never know that this game was taking place anywhere near Vegas. Consequently there are no missions in any casinos, on the Strip, behind any famous hotels, or even a gentleman's club. For that you'll have to get one of the console versions.
Still, Rainbow Six Vegas is a legitimate, fun, and enjoyable FPS for Sony's underrated PSP.
Customer Rating: Summary: rainbow six vegas without the vegas Comment: This game was fun to play with but the title of the game is midleading a bit and should be its own rainbow game considering none of it is in vegas!!!. well it might be but there were no casino firefights or anything like that so you would never know this was a vegas game. Other then that and the serious issue of when you kill someone the game freezes for a second it was fan and the multiplayer is good for the psp.
Customer Rating: Summary: RB6 rulez!!!! Comment: The game is pretty cool considering it has to be played on a psp console. The graphix is nice, the storyline is good, and the overall playability is above average for me.
