Summary: First Time Waxer
Comment: Product went on easy using an old clothes iron with the drip method, then melted it into skis evenly. How to is on you-tube. Just type in snow ski waxing. Did'nt have a chance to try skis on the slopes yet, but good idea to wax before storing for summer. They feel like new agian.

Summary: Best Buy on the Planet
Comment: I have used all sorts of waxes, all sorts of mixes, hydrocarbons, flouros, graphites, pastes, sprays, and so forth. Contrary to the recent reviewer who compared his waxing to a professional's job and came up a bit underwhelmed, well, the problem is more likely with the practitioner, than the wax. I have used this wax in very cold temperatures, in snow, sleet, rain, and on up to very warm temperatures (Mt. Hood in August warm enough for you?)--throughout it all, Super Hot Sauce has never been slower than anything around me, and often faster--this, combined with the simple fact that one wax works for ALL conditions, is cheaper than just about anything, and doesn't harm your bases like some of the expensive synthetic offerings, well, what more would you want. Of course, the best wax will only be as good as the application. I use an iron to apply, use a clean sheet to pick up the dirt during application, scrape down to a mild shine, brush it in with a nylon brush, rub it in with a nylon pan, and then finish it off with a strong hand-buffing. Some folks repeat the process a few times, but I basically take two or three pair of skis with me for any day on the slopes, use them all as the slope type, slope, etc., dictate, and clean them off when I am done--and wax them again before the next day. The hold their wax through the whole day, or at least as long as I use them, and that too is a rarity in waxes. I bought several pounds of this stuff, because I never want to run out! You owe it to yourself, and your pocketbook, to give the was a try at least. Sometimes good things do come cheap.

Summary: Hertel's "Super Hot Sauce"
Comment: I found this product to be "OK"! It went on well, holds up good, not as slippery as I expected it to be. I'm comparing it to professional shops that do waxing and a sample I received with my home wax kit. It didn't live up to it's name "Super Hot Sauce" The product was good enough that I brought their racing wax with the expectation that it will be superior. Not sure if I need racing wax, but I'll give it a try.

Summary: Hot Sauce a Fine Value
Comment: I'm thoroughly impressed with this product. Honestly, I'm not sure what the need is to spend a ton of $$$ when this wax works wonderfully for a great price. I've been in single digit cold with it, and just yesterday was riding in slush at 45 degrees. The wax handled these extremes optimally.
