Customer Rating: Summary: Package opened on arrival Comment: Was very unhappy that upon arrival 2 out of the 4 boxes were open. I will not be ordering this product from amazon again.
Customer Rating: Summary: Peculiar Little Product Comment: I've actually been the type of girl to use store brand tampons and they have always worked fine. Little did I know, what intricacies I would behold upon purchasing my first box of Tampax Pearls.
From the design of the box itself, to the packaging of each tampon and even to the shape of the applicator, this product says "I am Tampax, hear me roar." Although, I am glad it does not roar.
The box opens with a nifty little tab that might be unnecessary but probably would make it difficult for all your tampons to fall out if the box fell on its side. That's always nice.
I notice how thin the tampons seem inside their fabric packaging and this is due to the shape of the applicator itself but let me back up and discuss the packaging. Each sleeve is more fabric than the paper sleeves many tampons use and I'm not sure what the advantage is too that. Is it supposed to be more durable because I'm not convinced.
It's not all that quite either but it is more discreet. These look sligtly less like tampons but there's still not much guesswork to be done. The nicest part of the wrapper is the pull tabs to open. Pull the tabs away from each other and the wrapper is open and still in one piece so you don't have to go around picking up all the little paper pieces from your floor.
I'm not completely sold on the shape of the applicator but I must say it certainly looks like it'd fit a lot smoother than typical cardboard applicators. It took me a little bit to adjust to holding the applicator and fitting it normally, probably just because it wasn't something I was used to. But after the initial trouble, it was easy to squeeze, insert and remove the applicator.
One thing I noticed was how small these tampons seemed. It could be due to the unique applicator, but the tampons themselves seem extremely short.
I've just purchased these so my experience with them could change but, so far, I like them and think they will work fine.
