Summary: works like a charm
Comment: I read the directions very carefully and even did a test run before canning with it. Works great and I am sure as I become more comfortable with the process it will work even better. My mother used a pressure canner all my life, but was careful not to let me near it which put a fear in me of pressure cookers. I do believe you have to respect a pressure cooker and follow the directions carefully to avoid mishaps.

Comment: Used product for the first time today 8-17-08 and when it reached 10 lbs the pressure guage blew off. It seems there was a problem in the casting of the metal. Made sure when I installed it not to tighten too much. Also read in another review this happoning to someone else. I am going to call Presto tomorrow and raise he.l. Buyer beware to be carefull when using this pressure cooker.

Comment: Works great. Pint jars can be double stacked. Only bad thing,it will scratch your ceramic/glass cooktop if you slide it across the surface. Just pick it up instead of sliding. Shipping from Amazon was very quick.

Comment: This the second Presto Canner that we own my wife and I do alot of canning.
She works and needed another one so when she lets one cool down she can fill the other one and get it on to heat up. There maybe a better canner out there, but for the price I do not believe you can beat the Presto 23 Quart canner.
