Customer Rating: Summary: Incomplete w/o coverage of CW Comment: Except for a listing of the Morse Code character set there is no coverage of operating CW. The one communications mode that has been so linked to Amateur Radio is CW and yet the mode goes without so much as an honorable mention. A good book for introduction to other modes buy incomplete without CW.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good for a beginner Comment: This is a good book for the ham getting on the airways for the first time. ARRL puts out a lot of great ham radio books.
Customer Rating: Summary: ARRL Operating Manual Comment: The book is a wonderful book and a great update for my library. The only problem that I had was some minor shipping damages.
Customer Rating: Summary: ARRL, what a great group of people ! Comment: And another fine book, all about the operation of HAM. Everything from rules to help to projects !
Customer Rating: Summary: Fun, Topical Reading Comment: This is one of those books you can pick up and read random chapters, or even individual pages and find value. The book is organized topically and covers a wide variety of interests, so whether your interest is RTTY, DX, moonbounce, or whatever, you'll likely find it covered here - not just in shallow survey form, either (in spite of its wide coverage), but with usable advice and perspective. I think this is one of ARRL's better titles, along with their license manuals and the Antenna Book. Highly recommended for the newer ham or experienced ham curious about unfamiliar operating modes.
