Customer Rating: Summary: Good for Black Letter Law Review Comment: Emanuel does a nice job on the black letter law. Prefer his Crunchtime series for exam prep.
Customer Rating: Summary: Wonderful, Condensed, and Elucidating! Comment: I bought this little book the day before my evidence final. Our class wasn't particularly awesome--it was the prof's first time teaching, and although he understood evidence, he wasn't great at explaining it. In less than 24 hours, this book clarified every concept that I didn't yet understand.
The capsule summary is the main part of this book, and it is great. There are SO many examples to clarify the many abstract applications of the Federal Rules of Evidence! You can't HELP but understand it! There are some really cool flowcharts in the front that take you through the complete analysis for hearsay, best evidence rule, and a couple other things. It also has practice questions (though I didn't have time to use them).
Customer Rating: Summary: Perfect for Evidence Comment: Emanuel Law Outlines are expensive and aren't necessarily the best choice for every law school subject. For example, I have it for Constitutional Law and I hate it. I think that is because Constitutional law is theoretical while Evidence is concrete with laws. This series is PERFECT for Evidence. It breaks down the rules into numerous examples and does an amazing job of sorting out the complexities of Hearsay and Impeachment. I would definitely recommend Emanuel for this subject.
Customer Rating: Summary: Limited to students for final exam Comment: Not what I expected. Too concise and the principles underlying the rules are not fully developed. It may be good for a student who wants an overview for an exam, but that is all.
Customer Rating: Summary: CrunchTime Evidence Comment: the book was in good condition and came on time, but had much more highlighting in the front half than was indicated in the description.
